Prince Soleman Amalo is the 28th chief of the dynasty of Termanu.
But also the first, who isn't ruling. He is also known as Bea Amalo. The foremost last Manek of Termanu; Manek Ernst Amalo (1947-1966/died 1984 )was his father. Before Termanu was the major principality among the 19 principalities of the Rote-islands.

Because of political reasons (exile of rebellious people and clans and wars) and of secession of some areas as separate new principalities the amount of people of Termanu was decimated.

The present chief dynasty is a basic farmer. The palace of his father was turned into ruins because of neglect of his father for it. The present dynasty chief isn't a rich man, in contrast to some well to do brothers and cousins of him. The Raja of Kupang is his full-cousin.

Every dynasty has his own royal hat(tiilanga) based on Portuguese design from 17th century) and own weaving patterns; although last one is not so original as before.

Only one time in history the total of Rote-island were united under one Raja, the Landu (Rote) nobleman Joël Kedoh, who married with the sister of his father, Ratu Regina Amalo.

The Amalo dynasty is now very much represented into the provincial government of Nusa Tenggara Timur province.
