Lamakera: A state on the island of Solor, formed from the splitting of the state of Solor into 2 states: Lohayong and Lamakera
Lamakera was before a very important entrepĂ´t for spices from the Moluccans and also one of the few whale catching villages in Indonesia.Now 1 of the 2 remaining.With Lamalera on Lomblem/Lembata.Although by Lamamakera-people not so much whales cought the last years.
The capital of the principality is built against the hill and looks a bit like Gibraltar too.
Very interesting place to be and very friendly people too.True Indonesia!He is depicted here with his wife Ratu Siti Hajjar Tere.
His brother is Prince Ibrahim Termanu Dasi.One of his daughters;
Princess Mut Mainah;married a Dutchman and lives in Holland now.
