He is born as Raden Mas Suryo Partono,later received a soldest son of Susuhunan Paku Buwono XII the title Kanjeng Gusti Pangeran Haryo Hangabehi.His father never choose a chief wife among his 6 official wives,because his mother didn't allow it(maybe more attention given to the godess of the South-Sea?)His brother Tedjowoelan thought he would be better Emperor than his oldest brother,because the latter was having a weak heart,not so occupied with the old customs of the palace,etc.(and maybe because Prince Tedjowoelan had a higher rank in the Indonesian army than his brother...so had more influential friends/contacts).
Prince Hangabehi has a silent more amount of recognition feelings among the populations.

Prince Hangbehi was installed 10-9-2004 as Emperor/Susuhunan of Surakarta;10 days after his brother.Like his father you can easily speak with the present in the palace living Susuhunan Paku Buwono XIII.The rival Paku Buwono XIII is a bit a person(with his groups),who are leaning to much back on formal habits.
