Riau Lingga - Sumatra

The 'Sultan' (head of the Riau Lingga royal household) of Riau Lingga Tengku Abdul Rahman bin Tengku Muhammad Yusuf bin Tengku Usman bin Sultan Abdul Rahman Muadzam Shah II - who was the last reigning sultan of Riau Lingga empire. The descendants of the immediate family of the sultan are now mostly living in Singapore and Malaysia. Amongst the living descendant of the Riau Lingga aristocrats in Singapore and Malaysia, they are symbolically divided into the sultan's lineage which claimed Malay descent and the Yang diPertuan Muda of Riau lineage who are mostly Bugis from the the five Bugis warrior princes brother that set up dynasties in Selangor, Mempawah, Kalimantan Barat.

The present dynastychief;former sub-officer in Singapore army;lives quite anonymous in Singapore. He is first dynastychief, who married a non-royal woman.
He is very interested in the history of his dynasty and collected an enormous ammount of info about it,for which you only could compliment him.
He is the greatgrandson of the last ruling Sultan of Riau-Lingga,who began in 1911 a self-chosen,but a bit forced exile in 1911,which is still continuing.
They both have the name Abdurrahman.
